UK Ponycon 2014 - in Support of the Riding for the Disabled Association

UK Ponycon is very proud to confirm that we have permanently adopted the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) as our charity of choice and in 2014 this means we will be supporting them for a 6th year running!

In 2013, the amazing generosity of convention-goers saw us donate a whopping £2000, our biggest donation to the RDA ever!

All the proceeds from the UK Ponycon 2014 Charity Auction raised will be donated to the RDA - let's see if we can make this year's total the biggest yet!!

The RDA is a great charity which supports disabled children and adults to develop skills and confidence through horse riding and driving, both as a therapeutic activity, and to help them achieve their aspirations.

At UK Ponycon we believe this is a cause well worth supporting and the lovely folks at the RDA always give us their enthusiastic support!

oh thats a shame I was hoping to have a charity that actualy helps horses this year I mean yes they were nice people and evry thing but was hopnig we could suport a horse charity for a bit it is PONY con after all isnt it ? well thats just my thoughts meh

That's great news. I loved the Xmas cards they sold when I went to Birmingham con. It is pony con... Pony toys not real ponies or horses. So any connection with horse or pony with a good cause... Helping disabled people ride and develop in ways in which they couldn't stuck in a room 24hrs. Great charity, can't wait to find out location!

A great charity I know the people who come are always awesome (and always trying to make sure I've eaten...so many people do that at cons, I can't think why lol) Plus you know that whatever we raise is always gratefully received

Im really pleased with this choice of charity. And also the RDA does benefit horse welfare, they often have horses who have been rehomed from welfare organisations working for them I believe one pony rescued from the horrors of Spindles Farm is now working as an RDA pony

I can't tell you, how beautiful this is, that you are supporting them!
I can't even imagin to where I would be without the horses, people and yards I've been involved with.

I've never lived more a complete life, and I couldn't have done it, without the horses!

I know one of the Spindles Farm horses is now with the Horse Rangers. I actually volunteered at Speen Home of Rest for Horses around the time that the Spindles horses were taken there and Disney was one of the younger horses that came there...he's now with the Horse Rangers, and he was my favourite guy by a long shot.
