Right at this moment, discussions are underway to make this years event timetable as great as it can be. But, as ever, it's going to be such a hectic weekend, the committee are already thinking of ways to clone themselves so that we can all be in at least three different places at the same time!
Sadly though, I don't think we're going to have got to that stage by October, so for now, we're having to say that YOUR PONYCON NEEDS YOU!!!
We're looking for volunteers to give us a hand over the weekend of Ponycon.
So, I hear you all say, What might I have to do?
As a volunteer, you might find yourself at the raffle tables, helping to run fun games and contests, help set up and take down decorations. Nothing too strenuous. Maybe if you have ideas to hold a panel, now is the time to say so, because we do love a quirky talk about pony related things ^^ If you are going to be attending with anybody who might not be so keen on ponies (partners, husbands etc) maybe they might be keen to have something to do to fill in the time. Tell them Ask them if they might like to help us too ^^
Would I have to give up a lot of my time?
Not at all! Even just a couple of hours will help to fill in empty spaces in the timetable.
What do I get out of it?
Surely the knowledge that you're helping out should be enough, right? Haha, I'm not that cruel. All our volunteers will receive a special treat that will only be given to volunteers, as thanks for your time.
So what do I have to do?
Just send me a PM, saying which day(s) you will be attending Ponycon, and how much time you would like to spare us. Nearer the time of the con, a timetable of the events will be finalised and your 'spots' in the timetable confirmed to you.
I have a question. Is there going to be an option for attendees to run panels/events/workshops this year? I thought I'd just ask this as a few people have asked me if I'm doing the quiz this year and TBH if you haven't got anyone else doing something similar, I'd love to do one again
Nobody has said they'd like to run one, so by all means Archer if you have ideas, that'd be grand ^^
We have had an offer to do karaoke so far! *which I have decided is a go*
If anyone has leanings towards doing a workshop/panel about the card game and/or helping to run a card game tournament, I'd like that very much also *pokes at people witha feather duster* because it does seem to be popular but I personally have no idea how to play it, and a tournament could be fun for those who do know the game.
Awesome, I'll start drafting some questions up I have a ton of ideas of things I wanted to do at last years but technology scuppered for me XD If I get any good ideas for panels I might be able to do one of those too ^_^
At this stage I'm not certain whether I'm having a stall or not (booked one but...) so I don't know what my availability will be. I think if I can get the Friday and Monday off work then I'll be able to help out with the set up or put away.
