I know it's really early and feedback hasn't been asked for yet but before I forget:
I thought that the venue was perfect. The location was brilliant in terms of being easy to get to (by car for us) and there was no shortage of places to go outside of the hotel for food/drinks/a wander. We stayed in the Mercure as well and our room was lovely, service was great. I also liked being able to park there. I would be perfectly happy to have the same venue for next year too.
I liked the layout of everything. The only places that could feel a little crowded were the two middle rows between stalls and the stage area - I missed the seating in front of the stage from previous years. I thought that the rooms were easy to find and I liked having different rooms for different things.
I don't tend to partake in the events but there were a lot on and that was good - I saw a lot of people making the most of them. I would say that sometimes it got a bit loud in the Kings Hall.
I had offered some volunteer time but never saw where to put my name down (we arrived too late on the Friday) and it was hard to identify who was staff and free (as opposed to manning a stall/reception already and too busy) to ask so sorry I didn't end up helping out. I think that hi-viz "Staff" vests might be a good idea; you could always sew some pony ribbon/sequins on them to make them cooler . I also saw a few instances where it seemed that one person knew what to do about something but they weren't around to help/advise because they were needed elsewhere; competition entries and also collection of con ponies on the Saturday were the two examples that sprung to mind. That's an easy enough one to sort for next year - just write down some instructions.
Balancing the collectors and brony interests can't be easy but everybody I saw was enjoying themselves and there was something for everybody. Overall I had a great time and thought it was really well done.
