I have been going through my herd and have fond some ponies with strange marks on them.
1. a black dot with a brown stain around it. I can usually remove this by sticking a pin through the dot and then washing the area in acetone 2. strange brown marks that seem to slowly creep up the neck and cover the face. 3. lots of tiny dots that appear on the surface for no obvious reason. (I checked the inside of the pony)
What I need to know is what does smooze look like and how can it be prevented. Also are there some ponies more suseptable to it than others.

this is mold! you are doing the right thing by pricking it them cleaning with the acetone it kills it.

it sounds like plastic degeneration. which ponies is it on might I ask?

pindot mold!!!!!! cleaning with acetone will get rid of this. I soak in bleach then scrub with a tooth brush and hot water. I then use the pin/acetone method to get rid of the last spots. "smooshing" the pony helps too as it open up the pores that the mold is in.
oh. the other poonies are quarterback and twisty tail. I tthought it was smooze and separated them. Is it safe for them to rejoin my herd or will it be passed onto other ponies. Also how do I det rid of the sticky stuff inside them

I have herd that stickiness is due to the plasticiser (the stuff that makes plastic soft) coming out of the vinyl. A good wash out will remove it, but it is likely to return, and the pony will likely get harder as time goes on, so be careful when removing heads of ponies like ths, to be sure not to crack them!
