Hi all,
So, after trying other picture uploaders I've gone back to Photobucket and in a rather convoluted way got my photos up.
So... when many of you were enjoying your last day of Ponycon, I was getting hitched. We'd been engaged and planning for just under a year and it was great to see it all come through.
Everything was a secret from everyone, including parents. All people knew was the date and venue. I think people thought it was a bit odd but it worked out so well that even parents agreed keeping things secret was the best way to go. The impact was brilliant.
We got married in an old church that is now a puppet theatre and had fake grass on the stage just because we could. My lovely chihuahua was the ring bearer and came down the aisle with my dad and I.
We didn't serve canapes, instead we had bar snacks in packets for people to take as and when (nuts, crisps etc) which all went.
Our entertainment was a 90 minute petting zoo. It was brilliant: snakes, lizards, spiders, meerkats, raccoon, skunk, rabbit, millipede!!!
A lot of people assumed ponies would feature heavily in our wedding, but we just had two small nods. One of which came courtesy of the lovely sparkler
She made us two lovely custom ponies to use as cake toppers and they are brilliant! Everyone understood they were meant to represent us and were really impressed. I love how she managed to give mine a thick fringe and my partner had a great sweep over the eye. I'm so grateful to her for doing them as they are a lovely keepsake of our wedding
This symbol is one we both shared and then we each had our own design as in the two images above.
Thank you so so much Sparkler ^_^
The other bit of pony was in a custom made fascinator I ordered from a milliner in Wales. She does the most amazing fascinators far more fantastical than mine and she did a lovely job on mine (and two dinosaur headbands for my bridesmaids). I sent her Fluttershy, my favourite G4 and this is what I got back.
Lots of people didn't even spot the pony straight away which was what I wanted. It was hard to get it to stay in my hair but I had a friend do a wonder on my hair and getting it to stay.
We had a fantastic day, and I'm grateful to everyone who attended.
