Hi all. I've got a query which I was hoping to run past you guys who are in-the-know.
I have a relatively large LEGO model of a pony (Rainbow Dash) I've built. A few friends who will be attending the convention have expressed interest in seeing her, so I was considering maybe bringing her along.
Now, if needs be, I can keep this a separate thing to the con, if that's preferred. I'd be fine with that. However, I was wondering if it would be feasible to somehow display her at the convention?
I know that UK Ponycon is mainly geared towards buying/selling, panels/events and generally hanging out with people. It's not necessarily geared towards exhibiting. Therefore I don't know if this sort of thing would be appropriate. The nearest thing I can think of is the crafts contest. Although I wouldn't say I was particularly looking to enter any sort of competition.
So I mainly just wanted to gauge feasibility/interest in this. If it turns out it's not appropriate, or I've left it too late to sort, or any other reason that I should just leave her at home, that's fine, really.
One thing I would say - I probably wouldn't want to leave her completely untended (no-one keeping an eye on her) in an openly accessible area. She's a tad delicate, and also worth a fair bit to me.

Bring her along - I've had a look at layout and we should be able to display her safely
Thanks for getting back to me, and for looking into this! It's sounding very encouraging that I'll be bringing her along now.
Can you please clarify, how do you mean by displaying her safely, exactly (based on the layout)?
I should be able to keep an eye on her for a lot of the time during the convention. However there may be times where I'd like to attend a panel/event, so am not sure what would be the best solution for that. If others are able to keep an eye on her for me without much bother themselves, that would be ideal, but that might not be practical.
