a lot of the entertainment at the event comes from the attendees themselves, especially cosplayers and fursuiters. Everyone loves taking photos etc but fursuiters and cosplayers can give a better experience to everyone with a little support. Is it possible to provide this support?
First fursuiters can upset children when needing to remove their heads, and sometimes this needs the entire costume to be removed, which might be a problem at registration with the id. Is it possible to take the fursuiters out of registration line, get them registered first without the kids seeing, and then free them to walk the line to allow the queue to get photos?
Last year it was tricky in walking over from the hotel in a fursuit, and not having any bag storage on site . this year with the hotels more distant this will be greater- crossing that roundabout in a restricted vision fursuit WILL result in an accident. Can we have a cosplay lounge (aka headless lounge) to support the tricky cosplays and fursuits that can't be walked in safely?. if a lounge has a water cooler the length of time pony fursuiters can remain active increases. A bag storage for those cosplayers would be great as well, you don't want to know how hot it is wearing a pony fursuit over normal clothes! (dr whooves didn't remain active on the floor for long last year, I saw several posts online of attendees upset they missed him, this was the reason!).
photo opportunity. We all love cosplay and last year the main ambush point was of course the vendor area. This is good, but did cause some issues for vendors near the enterance getting blocked by cosplayers hanging around and also cosplayers being interrupted when shopping (I know I was). It is good people ask permission but some are also shy and don't want to, also a few attendees not wanting their pictures posted had to keep scrambling out of the line of the photos) Could we have an area in the event marked out on the floor that is "cosplay zone" where if a cosplayer is, you may enter and take pictures without needing to ask permission. This occurs at gencon and is mega popular and if a backdrop/wall can be put would this would be excellent and avoid many issues. ideally inside the vendor area.
Cosplay competitions are great, and the hall gets crowded. some want to do other activites and perhaps this trick from the usa can be done to help. This is the "cosplay parade". Assemble those showing off their cosplays and allow them to parade through the venue- this allows attendees to the line the route and see the cosplays on mass quickly as well as letting the vendors (who are trapped at their stalls) see the experience inside a couple of minutes. You can then end the parade at the competion and allow those not entering to leave (because they bought costume etc, or not that confident in it) to not go on stage.
Can we also arrange some cosplay photoshoot times for cosplayers on themes? such as "meet the pony fursuiters", "equestria girls cosplayers" or "background ponies" in an area? This would allow cosplayers to group and give more photo opportunities?
How about someone taking official photos with an SLR? this is popular at bronycon as allows every attendee to get a digital photo and they love it. also ensures you dont have to hunt online for your photos. Not only is this a great add on, it also helps cosplayer judging if the judges can look at the pictures.
Any of these possible?
