Hello everyone! And Happy New Year!
My name is Bea and live in the ever so sunny UK. I've been collecting G1 ponies since I was 3 years old, it sounds super young, but I never played with them, instead I treated them like precious treasure even at that age. And I still do! I think my first pony was given to me by my eldest cousin who bought her (for me! I'm still in shock) at her school fayre. Of all the G1 ponies in the world, it was Macau Lemondrop! My second was Nurse Tenderheart, after that I can't remember for the life of me!
It's been nothing but ponies for the 22 years that followed! I actually use this username elsewhere to post pictures of my collection, something I only started doing late last year, but it reminded me of what a wonderful community this is. And so I thought why not join here too, especially as I plan on finally attending this year!
I'm a uni student studying Film Production & Screenwriting, and I'm about to enter the final semester of my final year. What a relief! I also co-own a Film production business, which means more money to fund my pony collecting
I only collect G1s, sadly I could never get into any gen that followed. Collecting had to take a little dip when we moved 9 years ago and I struggled with college course after college course with no clear view of where I wanted my future to go. It took a back seat, and a lot of the merch side of my collection was sold without me knowing, or lost. It's pretty sad considering I had a lot of rare items that I haven't seen come up for sale since, but I kept all my ponies and started regularly buying them again early last year when I had a decent income (partly student finance, thank you uni for funding my obsession), and I've been re-purchasing a lot of the items that were lost/sold. So now I'm bordering on 500 G1 ponies, MIB ponies, play sets, accessories and anything G1 related that I can get my hands on, but sadly have no where to display them just yet
I've never actually been to PonyCon. I was desperate to go last year but I was limited with travel. It was a little too far for me to go alone and due to circumstances at home, I didn't have anyone who could, or sadly wanted, to go with me. But by the time I realised I could go, the tickets were all gone! But this should hopefully change this year! So I look forward to seeing you all later this year if I can make it!
This ended up being a gigantic post, but I'm just so excited to meet you all!
