With the announcement of the schedule I thought it best I write this up ASAP so the time can be adjusted accordingly...it will not last 4-HOURS! LOL
After making this post I'll contact the organizers and request they make the slight alterations necessary, they also need to include the MLP CCG tournament.
What's Happening?
On the Sunday, 13:00-15:00, I will be hosting 4 MLP Monopoly games that will take place simultaneously across 4 different boards with up to 6 players per broad and utilizing the speed games rules.
At the end of the event there will be a winner for each game, who has the most money, they will win one of the Redbubble MLP Monoply T-shirt's I've purchased for the event, featured here,
There will also be an overall winner of the 4 games, who has the most money of all 4-winners and they will win an actual copy of the MLP Monopoly set!
Extra Trading Rule
While the speed game rules allow for a solid game, they are not optimized for such a short game length with potentially 6 players.
To accommodate this I have devised one extra rule to keep play moving at a fast pace.
Each player will only be allowed to make a singe trade offer to a player per turn before they roll the dice. The player in question, if they don't except it, can then make a single counter offer which the former player can except or reject. After this the player who's turn it is must then roll the dice and take their turn.
Example:
Player A: Okay Player B, you money grabbing Flim Flam brother, I'll give you 500-bits for Sugar Cube Corner.
Player B: Hummmmmm...well, throw in Canterlot as well and you got yourself a deal.
Player A: Oh for the love of Celestia, NO WAY!!!!!
*Player A rolls dice and takes their turn*
The reason for adding this rule is to prevent precious time being wasted by players getting into long, drawn out, negotiations with each other about trading or selling various properties while the other players sit around bored for 10-minutes waiting for their turn.
Also, it makes bankrupting players easier as they can't desperately raise money selling off their assets to other players when they can't pay off a debt on the basis of their own bits, selling houses and mortgaging their property to the bank.
Bowing out of the Game
It's quite likely that a player may want to bail out of the game before it finished, maybe they are too far behind and just are not having any fun. This is fine, but to make it fair there is a process they have to go though rather than them 'trading' all their property to another player for 1-bit to bankrupt themselves.
If a player wishes to leave the game, at the start of their turn, before they role the dice, they declare they are going bankrupt to the bank. All their money goes to the bank, their property is mortgaged and then auctioned off to the other players one at a time.
Note: When a player wins a mortgaged property in an auction they MUST pay 10% even if they do not wish to unmortgage the property at this time. Then, if they later decide to unmortage it, they must pay the 10% again.
Timetable
The event will aim to start as soon as possible, no later than 10-minutes after the time slot for it has started. I will go over the speed rules and extra rules with everypony. A copy of the instructions will be at each game in case people need to refer to it during play and they can ask me.
In the event a game does not lead to all the players except 1 going bankrupt (unlikely) the game will end 10-minutes before the event time slot ends, where players money and the value of assets will be counted to determine who had the higher amount and therefore won.
The moment the winners are known, their total bits can be compared to the other winners to discover who had the highest total win so they can win one of the MLP Monopoly sets.
Disputes During Play
During the game, as I will not be playing myself but hosting, I will be acting as a referee in the event of a dispute between players. I know from experience Monopoly can get very intense, lol, but please try to keep your heads and remember it's just a fun game.
Please post below if you have any additional questions about the event and I'll do my best to answer them.
