It has very recently come to my attention that the hotel where Ponycon will be held this year has double booked a very small number of the guest rooms. This doesn't affect the convention itself in any way. However it will affect some of you guys that have booked in with the hotel to stay there during the convention. I have been in touch with the hotel today to try and sort this out as best I can and to get some information for those affected.
The double booking mostly applies to those people that booked to stay at the convention hotel (The Grand Mercure) for the Saturday night ONLY. Bookings that encompass more than one day are likely not affected but I would urge you all to double check the email you used to book the hotel.
For those that did only book to stay there on the Saturday, I would appreciate it if you could contact me (Archer) at the earliest you can, either by posting in the comments here or messaging me. I have a list of the handful of people that will be affected from the hotel but for privacy reasons don't want to publicly post it. If you only booked the Saturday I should be able to confirm whether or not your room is affected. If your room has been one that was double booked The Mercure has arranged for you to stay at the nearby Ibis. I have further details regarding how the hotel is compensating you over this issue so as not to affect your enjoyment of the weekend.
Again let me stress that is it only a small number that this issue applies to and the convention itself is NOT affected in any way. I do apologise to those that it has happened to and as I have said, I do have information for you if you can contact me. If you know of someone that has booked the Saturday and may not see this post, can you please direct them to me as soon as possible.
Sorry about this guys.
