UK Pony Meet?

I thought I'd make this thread to stop us clogging up the shoutbox!

Since we're all suffering Ponycon withdrawal, maybe we should organise a meetup? I'm thinking possibly in the new year, since what with Ponycon, BUCK, and now the runup to Christmas (sigh), funds will be stretched enough as it is!

I'll update this post when new info pops up, but for now, if you're interested could you please post that you are, along with your location? Then we can start working out the best place to meet. I've seen Birmingham mooted as a central-ish place, which I like, and has NOTHING to do with the fact I live there. *cough*.

Oh Birmingham sounds good to me, easy for me to travel to anyway - trains are good.

I agree on the timing, that after Christmas would be good, and perhaps something to cheer us all up in that miserable January/February time... assuming of course that we dont get heavy snow like last year!

Yeahh, definitely after Christmas haha! PonyCon has already stretched my bank balance beyond belief! We could maybe do a pony buy/swap thing there as well, to save on postage costs if people wanted to sell/swap ponies??

I,m in Portsmouth on the south coast. I would love a pony meet up, and the new year is a great halfway point between ponycons

I can theoretically get to brum, and I have friends there I could see so double whammy!

I am Nottingham based so I am not to far away.
Hopefully this falls when I have money and we can plan well in advance to make trains and coaches cheaper.
I looked at the cost of getting to Birmingham a week in advance and that costs like 20 quid on coach so I wonder how much cheaper it can be if I have plenty of time to plan.

Oooh, that tea room's in the museum, right in the middle of Birmingham City Centre! That does look handy. I wouldn't mind hosting it at my house, but it's not huge, so if there's a lot of us it may need to be elsewhere!

Portsmouth has a brony meet on the first Saturday of every month at Gunwharf.
Naturally this meet will be looking more at G4 than the previous ones, however all are welcome.
The next one is on the 5th October. I'll be flitting between that and PTTA which is also on at Gunwharf.

Oooh yes count me in Sounds good and I'm sure I can also easily travel to Birmingham from Liverpool. A meet would definitely be something to look forward in the 'dark' months of January and February
